When hiring a Nanny to take care of your beloved children, naturally you have to be incredibly careful when making your decision. You’ll want all of the facts, a thoroughly vetted candidate with a wealth of experience and an equal measure of quality references to boot. Though when it comes to nationality, new mothers can be faced with some embarrassing questions. For example, ‘what are Filipino nannies like?’ Some people are afraid to ask, as it may come across as rude or ignorant, when in actuality, it is an
entirely reasonable question to ask, particularly when it comes to inviting a stranger into your home to care for your family.

Nannies of all nationalities each have their own inherent advantages. Though in this article we are going to explore Filipino nannies and their natural gift when it comes to caregiving.

1 – Family Orientated

Filipino people are incredibly family orientated, often having three generations living under one household. One of the main advantages of hiring a Filipino nanny is their inherent love and respect for all family members. Filipino girls and boys are encouraged to take great care of their siblings, instilling a high-level of compassion in them from an early age.

2 – Optimistic

Another beautiful and defining characteristic in Filipino nannies is their dedication and optimism. They will work hard to provide for their families, regardless to whether or not it’s a struggle. It is that level of optimism and positive thinking which you will want to install in your own children.

3 – Polite

You’ve never known polite until you’ve met a Filipino person. They’re wonderful people who treat everyone with the utmost level of respect. This is a great example for your children to be raised with.

4 – Incredible Food

Another wonderful characteristic in Filipino women is their love for great food. From a young age many young Filipino girls will be encouraged to learn to cook with their mothers. You can relax, safe in the knowledge that your children will be receiving great, healthy food from a passionate chef. What more could you ask for?

5 – They’re in High Demand

Filipino nannies are becoming increasingly popular, and with good reason too! You can find them all over the world, working with families in London, New York, Hong Kong, Dubai and more!

6 – Fluent in English

For the large majority of Filipino people, English is their second language. This means that you will be able to communicate with your nanny without any complications. In addition to that, studies show that multi-lingual people have a deeper sense of empathy and understanding, particularly when it comes to other people’s feelings. This makes them brilliant at taking care of young children and interpreting their needs.

7 – Hard Working

Filipino people are hard workers and constantly strive for excellence. This comes from an inherent desire to succeed, but also because they have a duty of care for their families. The majority of Filipino women will not only be earning for themselves, so you can rest assured that they will be taking their career incredibly seriously.

8 – Peaceful

Generally speaking, Filipino women live quiet and peaceful lifestyles. This means that if you have a live-in nanny, you can expect them to be very quiet and respectful on their days off.

9 – They Will Go the Extra Mile

Filipino nannies are always striving for excellence and will do whatever it takes to please their employers. This means that they will work hard and go that extra mile for you. It’s just nice to know that should you require that extra bit of help, they’ll be prepared to make sacrifices when called upon.

10 – Flexible Holidays

Filipino nannies typically only ever use their holidays to return home and visit their families. This means that you can rest assured that they won’t be requesting holiday all of the time.

Ultimately, you cannot go wrong with a Filipino Nanny if you’re looking for a naturally gifted caregiver to look after your children. They’ll make a wonderful addition to your family and bring an air of warmth and compassion into your home. They’re a light-hearted and caring people, with a unique sense of humour.
